- Anyone that wants to is welcome to mirror the ADE tree, including
- aminet. Currently a full ADE tree is about 200 Mb, and this is
- expected to probably double over the next 6-12 months. So, any mirror
- needs to be prepared to receive about 200-400 Mb of data that is
- updated about every 3-6 weeks.
-
- Each release of ixemul gets better and better. The 43.0 library now
- in beta testing fully supports network programs using either AmiTCP or
- AS225, both clients and daemons, and a program that uses networking
- functions is completely shielded from the differences by ixnet.library
- (called by ixemul and included in the distribution). This means that
- lots of clean ports of network utilities are soon to be forthcoming.
-
- I also have a todo list about as long as my arm of things that would
- be interesting to add to the ADE, and probably quite easy to port, if
- only I wasn't having to work about 200 hrs a month at my consulting
- business. I suppose I should dig out my list and post the details to
- the ADE projects list so that people interested in tackling a port can
- have some hints for things to do.
